Going south for the winter? Snowbirds are those lucky people who migrate from the north to warmer climates during the cold season. Although snowbirds were originally retirees, more and more people of all ages are avoiding the cold weather during the winter months.
Take a minute to be sure your property is safe for your return in the spring:
- Turn off your water.
- Set your heating system to 55 degrees.
- Find out if your community association offers a free winter check program. If yours does not, consider contacting a friend or neighbor to check your property.
- Secure all outside furniture, trash cans, and lawn ornaments.
Travelers has compiled this great list of items to take care of prior to heading southbound. Have a safe trip and we will see you next spring!
