With April being “Distracted Driving Awareness Month,” it is the perfect time to remind your employees of the rules for CMV Drivers regarding Hand-Held Mobile Devices! The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) provides the “No Call, No Text, No Ticket” rules, how drivers can use a mobile phone while still obeying the rules, and what happens if drivers are caught.
· CMV drivers are prohibited from texting while driving – this includes any form of retrieval or entry into an electronic device
· Use of mobile phones is restricted – hands-free phones located with close proximity without pressing more than a single button
