BREAKING NEWS: Couple Sues Eataly Boston After Woman Slips on Stray Piece of Prosciutto, Fractures Ankle and Claims ‘Great Pain and Suffering’
- Court documents state that medical expenses exceeded $7,500.
- The couple is seeking damages amounting to $50,000.
The lawsuit claims that Eataly was negligent for “failing to ensure that the floor was safe,” not preventing such hazards for patrons, and “failing to warn” customers of the “dangerous condition.”
Slips, trips and falls are some of the most common third-party injuries that businesses face. According to the National Floor Safety Institute, falls are the leading cause of visits to the emergency room, accounting for over 1 million visits in the U.S. each year.
Slips, trips and falls of third parties on a business’s premises have the potential to cost organizations a significant amount of money due to potential lawsuits, and although injuries are often minor, they can be serious or—in some cases—fatal.
