“Candy Kitchen!”
My nieces and nephew start asking “when can we go?” as soon as they arrive in Ocean City. I would love to say that I take them once a year as a treat, but as your trusted advisor, I will tell you the truth. I take them to get candy every time I can sneak them away from their parents. I can’t be trusted with small children with big beautiful eyes who just want a piece of candy. I cave every time.
This year has been rough because my own son got… braces. No green army men, no gummy worms, no gummy bears, no gummy sharks, no red Swedish fish, absolutely no gummies. He was so depressed he didn’t even want to go.I reminded him, at 12 years old, he needed to open his mind and try something new.
After a long day at the beach we stopped and got 4 different types of fudge and they all got a piece of each kind! Then to make the loss of the favorite gummy bearable, we each got a chocolate covered oreo.
These trips to Candy Kitchen can take up to an hour, the selection is so huge, add in the ice cream as an option and the poor kids go in to overload. The bright colors, great décor and multiple of locations make it a great place to go!
I could tell you that there is a treat in the store for even the pickiest child, but just go check it out for yourself. I dare you to walk in and not smile.
Thanks for reading.
