Admittedly, I have not yet downloaded this latest phenomena… but our IT department and several other people in our office are going to get them all!
The trend is so popular that Property & Casualty 360 has already listed three types of insurance you need prior to starting out on your adventure:
- Homeowner or Renter Policy – There are a lot of great reasons to protect your home and belongings from peril, but as enthusiasts break in to your home because an elusive Jynx is sitting on your counter – and they also steal your toaster, insurance will cover your toaster. If they steal the Jynx – you are out of luck.
- Uninsured or Under-insured motorist – If you drive you should have this coverage. If while off chasing Pikachu you happened to hit or be hit by someone who doesn't have insurance or the bare limits, you want to make sure you can get back to the game!
- Cyber insurance – Check your home policy and make sure you have some coverage – hackers are out there trying to steal all your hard work and your identity.
As risk managers, may we offer these few tips to be safe when playing:
- Look up.
- Have a buddy.
- Don't go to unsafe or unfamiliar areas.
- Don't Pokemon and drive.
