Week #2 – Wildfire
Wildfire is not as common in our communities as it is other places in the country. Still, we better remember and be prepared for the great advice of our friend Smokey the Bear. Smokey has been reminding us for over 70 years that, “Only YOU can prevent wildfires.”

Check out www.ready.gov for great recommendations on before, during and after a wildfire. One great recommendation is for children to help clean up the lawn of leaves and twigs so that wildfires don’t start near your home. I am telling my 12 year old son that he has to clean up the yard because the federal government said so. Thank you Federal Emergency Management Agency!
