The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has published the Final Rule in regards to Electronic Logging Devices. Some highlights:

• All commercial truck and bus drivers who use paper logs will have two years to purchase and utilize an electronic device.
• The electronic logging devices (ELD) will have specific technological specifications that manufacturers will be required to produce and sell.
• Limiting or eliminating the need for additional supporting documents verifying on-duty drive time.
• Rules to stop commercial driver harassment based on the information provided by the electronic logging device.
