Last August the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) proposed a rule that would require heavy-duty vehicles to have speed limiters installed. However, the most recent Agency Rule List from the White Houses' Office of Management and Budget does not include the Speed Limiter Rule. This is good news for the Delaware Motor Transportation and many other trucking organizations who were in opposition to the proposed rule. Since the Speed Limiter Rule is not listed on the Agency Rule List, there is a good chance that this proposal will die before ever becoming an official rule.
