I grew up in a wonderful and large community association, Ocean Pines, Maryland. And although they have plenty of great and wonderful amenities, it lacks sidewalks and street lights. Trick or Treating was not allowed and the children who lived in the community paraded through the community center and got a king size candy bar for best costume.
Be. safe during Halloween. Prior to heading out to any trick-or-treat local – make sure you follow some great safety tips:
- Fake bladed weapons should be soft, short and flexible
- Carry a flashlight for better visibility
- Have kids walk in groups or with an adult
- Examine treats for choking hazrds or tampering
- Test makeup in a small area of the skin for allergies
- Eat only factory wrapped treats
- Fasten reflective tape on costumes for drives to see
- Look both ways before crossing the street
- Only walk on sidewalks if possible
- Wear well-fitting masks and costumes to avoid blocked vision, trips or falls
- Wear flame resistant costumes.
