It is with great pleasure that we, as a team, announce that Elaine Young, Executive Assistant, is retiring on to a new career.
That was a hard statement to write and it has taken me several months to believe it.
I wanted to tell the world, or my 6 blog readers, how this fascinating person has served the company and its employees on so many different levels and how we are all slightly cringing at the idea of being without her on a daily basis. I wanted to create a master list of achievements and gratitude for all she has done. Instead, we went to lunch and she shared her story.
In her little girl heart, Elaine wanted to be a nurse. Caring for others has always been a passion of hers. Her life course altered when she met her husband, Jerry, and she started a family and embarked upon her career. So when she thought about what to do after leaving her career, her choice was easy.
Elaine has already completed all the necessary requirements and will begin volunteering at Coastal Hospice almost minutes after her retirement from Deeley Insurance Group. She will spend two days a week with patients to offer comfort as they move on. Coastal Hospice has also recognized the talent of an organizing genius and she will work in the office one day a week.
Elaine will continue to hold Friday’s aside to spend with her loving husband Jerry and whatever activity brings them joy. It was amazing to watch Elaine and Jerry at lunch start and finish each other’s stories.
Elaine’s parting advice: Look and listen without judgement and keep your heart and mind open to all people at all times.
Elaine has cared for us all and represents our core value at Deeley Insurance Group. Protect What Matters Most. Faith, Family and Friends.
Elaine, Thank you. We are incredibly proud of you and all you have accomplished and we know this next adventure will bring you even more joy.
A Special Note from Laura Bren, Our President.
You have been there for us in so many ways. I always knew I could count on you and your advice. You’ve fed me, watered me and most importantly caffeinated me. There are countless things you’ve done quietly in the background to move this company and its leader forward.
Together we’ve celebrated wins, cried over losses and prayed in the midst of uncertainty. Your prayers, love and encouragement have been such an important component to me growing into the women, wife, mother & leader that I am today. I am forever grateful that God placed you by my side for some of the most amazing and difficult moments in my life.
Thank you for your service to our agency and our people. Thank you for your love and friendship. I wish you nothing but the best as you enter this next season of life.
