Deeley Insurance Group is proud to announce that Cathy Mason was promoted to our Accounting Manager and recently became certified in
Insurance Accounting through NetVU. Cathy shares about her experience and goals for the upcoming Deeley Group year.
Background
Cathy has worked in the Accounting field of various industries for 20 years. In 2010 she began her first Insurance Accounting experience at Deeley Group. Cathy
earned her Associate Degree in Accounting from Wor-Wic College and holds NetVu Certification in Insurance Accounting.
Goals
Cathy has set goals to lead her Accounting department to streamline the direct bill process and utilize the download feature of our Agency Management
System to its full capacity. Accomplishing these goals would be extra beneficial as it will create smoother workflows for all Deeley Group departments. In
addition, Cathy plans to begin classes toward her BA degree this fall.
Life-work experience
In her role of Accounting Manager, Cathy shared that it has been an incredible learning experience. One of the main things that she has learned is how to
overcome the challenges of balancing work and home life.
Community-Family Involvement
Cathy is active in her son’s extracurricular activities at Pittsville Middle School. She is currently a supportive band parent.
Advice for Success at Work
Cathy’s advice for success at work is to leave work at work. She shares that we all need down time to be refreshed for the new day and the new challenges.
She also suggests taking at least two week-long vacations per year in order to rejuvenate.
