The compliance date for all carriers and drivers subject to the new rule mandating ELD’s is December 18, 2017. That is only a few short months away.
There is a second phase to the Phased-In Compliance of the ELD regulation. This phase will last two years from December 18, 2017 through December 16, 2019.
Per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) website, during this time carriers and drivers subject to the rule can use:
- AOBRDS that were installed prior to December 18, 2017.
- Certified, registered ELDs following rule publication December 16, 2015.
All drivers and carriers must be fully compliant with certified and registered ELD’s by December 16, 2019.
