This spring we headed to Dolle’s for a wonderful tour by owner Anna Dolle Bushnell. Melissa, myself and my girls, were given the extensive tour of the
entire Wicomico Street facility.
The tour began in the candy shop counter area on the Boardwalk with some throwback photos to the early 1910’s &
1920’s. After our history lesson, we headed in to the taffy creation area. You can

Along our wonderful tour we asked lots of questions, sampled lots of taffy and enjoyed several, many chocolate creations. Anna shared lots about how
the business has grown and changed over the last couple of decades and how close knit the staff is. It really is a Dolle’s family!
Since Dolle’s has been making confectionery creations since 1910 they know their candy. And, if you are going to enjoy candy you want it to taste
great. Dolle’s has some helpful 'enjoy by' guidelines:
- Fudge: 3-6 weeks
- Taffy: 4-6 months
- Popcorn: 6-8 months
- Chocolates: 4-6 months
- Brittles: 2 months
- Mints: 12 months
- Caramels: 6 months
- Homemade Macaroons: 2 weeks
- Gummies & Licorice: 6 months
- Candied Nuts: 4 weeks
- Caramel Apples: 72 hours
- Chocolate Covered Strawberries: 24 hours or less
