Contactless payment or NFC Payments Near Field Communication are used at over 700,000+ retailers
What? Oh goodness, some new technology is going to make us safer, if we can figure out how to use it.
So I started talking to the IT guy (of the millennial generation) – and he was saying that the microchip is a little safer then the swipe on the credit card but not really. The safest way to make a payment is over the internet via smart phone?
What – is there an app for this?
Yes, there is.
Depending on what operating system and phone you use but some examples:
Apple Pay
Google Wallet
Android Pay
Why does this make it safer? Well, it never gives out your card number, – it makes a one time use card number for each transaction you make. Meaning it would be hard to get your card number because it is never used. Now, that doesn’t make much sense to me, but I tend to believe him.
Is anyone paying by phone?
