A large number of our population will eventually be a caregiver for another person, a parent, a sibling, a sick child. This additional responsibility will end up having a tremendous impact on your life. In our own Deeley Group family, we have seen the strain that additional care giving responsibility has put on some of our team members. So if you are caring for a loved one, take a minute for yourself.
It doesn't have to be drastic:
- Take a walk
- Grab a coffee
- Pet a dog
- Look at the ocean
- Catch a sunset
- Read – and not the research studies about whatever has affected your loved one.
- Call a friend
You don't have time to burn out – so take care of yourself. Remember what they say when you get on a plane. “First, put the oxygen mask on your own face, and then help others.” Your loved one needs you strong and happy.
Take care of you. Thanks for reading.
