We would like to introduce you to a new member of our Leadership team at Deeley Insurance Group. Meet Beth Bell, our Chief Financial Officer
and find out what inspires her in the office & at home.
Background
Beth has 12 years of executive experience in operational accounting. She was previously a CFO at two medical practices, Director of Finance at a local
broadcasting company and Controller at an Ocean City restaurant and hotel group. Beth has her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting.
Inspiration
Deeley Insurance Group values teams who work well together. Beth enjoys contributing to the success of an organization by being a part of the
internal team. She has always gravitated to an operational accounting position, rather than the public accounting position. By being a member of the team,
Beth gains satisfaction as the team accomplishes goals and executes plans.
Work-Life Balance
Recently, Beth’s 15 year old son was asked to describe what made him proud of his mom. He stated that he was proud that Beth was living the American Dream
– she put herself through college, worked hard to climb the ladder, is a leader in an organization that is helping to provide opportunities for other
employees and that she focuses on being happy, healthy and taking care of her family. Beth’s actions are speaking louder than her words. That is true work
and life balance.
Community-Family Involvement
Beth is a proud parent of four active children. She spends her free time supporting their involvement at Showell Elementary School, Stephen Decatur Middle
and High Schools, local baseball and soccer teams and school and community bands. Beth is a member of the Parents Association at X Squad Dance Studio,
where she supports her daughter’s dance competition team. She enjoys organizing teams to run to support local causes and charities. Beth & her family
are also active members of the Community Church of Ocean Pines.
Advice to Potential Candidates
“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it” – Maya Angelou Only you can determine the success of your career. Everyone has the same opportunity to be successful. You have to define what success means to you. My
advice is to work hard, take chances, learn as much as you can from those that have come before you, be honest, stay positive, welcome criticism, keep
things simple and maintain balance in your life. And, most of all, communicate. Without communication there is no relationship. Relationships at work are
essential to maintain trust, respect and cohesiveness with your coworkers and management.
