Maryland will require each vehicle to carry an insurance identification card starting October 1, 2017.
If you keep your id card in your personal device – the electronic version will work. I immediately downloaded my id card in to my cell phone.
Then I thought for a minute. Realized, on occasion I may let my mother or other family/friend borrow the car. Ok really, I am borrowing their car because they have larger vehicles than I do and sometimes you need to move something big, or more than 3 of your friends at once! So I had to send an email to them making sure they put the printed insurance card in the car – or email me the card so if I get pulled over – I won't get the $50 fine!
Fining won't start right away, but they will write you a warning.
