Here at Deeley Group we absolutely love lending a hand and making a difference in our surrounding community. We are very excited to begin volunteering as a group with the HALO ministry. HALO stands for Hope And Life Outreach. This organization has been active in the Salisbury community since 2004 when it began as a ministry of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Since then, it has become a separate non-profit, volunteer-based, Christian organization.
There are many volunteer opportunities at each of HALO’s locations. They have a men’s shelter, a shelter for women and children, a café, as well as a thrift store. Last year, HALO served 81,872 meals to hungry individuals from our community. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served every single day of the year at the HALO café. They also have a Day Facility which offers educational, art, spiritual, and life skill classes. Their ‘Journey of Hope’ program offers hope to those who are “sick and tired of being sick and tired” through bible studies, budgeting classes, and other helpful resources.
HALO offers many ways to get involved, from group volunteer opportunities, to individual volunteering, hosting supply drives, and monetary donations. We are very excited to begin volunteering with this awesome organization! For your own volunteer opportunities with HALO, click here!
