CNA is proud to endorse the first annual Manufacturing Day, on October 5. This day is designed to expand knowledge about and improve the public perception of manufacturing careers and manufacturing’s value in the U.S. economy.
Manufacturing Day is co-produced by the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Int’l.® (FMA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), and The Manufacturing Institute.
Manufacturing-related companies that participate in the event commit to opening their doors to registered visitors who will learn about real career opportunities, training and resources.
“Manufacturing Day will be the ‘coming-out party’ for U.S. manufacturers all across the nation,” said Ed Youdell, FMA president and CEO, in an August 2012 article of The Fabricator. “On October 5 we celebrate the great work and innovation of the 12 million people who make the U.S. the world’s largest manufacturing economy. We encourage manufacturers to open their doors to students, parents, press, and job seekers so they can see first-hand the safe, high-tech, and innovative work environments that await the best and brightest who pursue careers in manufacturing.”
Additionally, fellow manufacturers will learn about business improvement resources and services delivered through manufacturing extension partnerships.
