Have you ever fully tested your rubber boots?
My rubber boots passed with flying colors (mostly brown) on Saturday, April 11th at
Project Clean Stream.
Perdue sponsors a local Project Clean Stream. This year there were more volunteers than ever. Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts were out in droves to
clean up our waterways.
Perdue had all the supplies on hand. Low tide allowed the boys and girls to walk along the high water mark and pick up a great deal of washed-in debris,
flip-flops, tennis balls, hats and a lot of plastic bottles. Some of the boy scouts were even able to go out by boat and pick up crab pots that had been
abandoned.
We give a huge thanks to the Perdue family of business for organizing and gifting the supplies to make this day possible. Our youth are learning firsthand
about how much work goes in to keeping our water ways and marshlands clean of debris. I think we have created many future non-litterers.
Thanks for reading. Are your participating in any local Earth day activities?
