During a recent meeting between the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and electronics manufacturers, the agency stated that its computer system is not yet ready for the new electronic logging device (ELD) rule.
However, the FMCSA is moving forward with its planned compliance date of Dec. 18, 2017.If the FMCSA’s computer system isn’t ready to accept ELD data before the compliance date, roadside enforcement officials may need to rely on printed logs.
