On Saturday, October 7th the Delaware State Fairgrounds will be the beginning site of Delaware's Truck Convoy. The convoy travels through both Kent and Sussex Counties and will be escorted by police officers. The Delaware Trucking industry supports the Special Olympics, and this convoy event will be a celebration of their partnership with the Special Olympics as well. Throughout the history of this convoy, over $485,000 has been raised for Special Olympics Delaware.
After completing their route, the convoy will return to the Delaware Fairgrounds and enjoy a festival. There are many opportunities to get involved in this event. For a $100 donation, truckers can participate in the convoy. Athletes in the Special Olympics can apply to ride shotgun in a truck cab during the convoy. Spectators can view the convoy at many designated locations along the route throughout Delaware. We look forward to seeing you there!
