Even on the phone, there was a level of calm and comfort, they offered me an appointment the next evening! They are open till 7 pm on Wednesday and Thursday which is hugely convenient when you have to work! When I told my sister my plan, she wanted a pedicure too! So I quickly called back and made a second appointment.
We walked in about 15 minutes early and they greeted us by our names. We were welcome to sit and wait or wonder around the store where they had delightful trinkets for sale.
It was not long before Kee came to collect me. When I waffled on color choice, she actually led me to pick a shade of blue that was out of my comfort zone. As we got settled in the room, she painted my finger nails with the color to make sure I liked it and we talked.
Kee rarely has new clients as her regular Ocean City local client base keeps her pretty busy. She chooses the color for the clients almost all the time, and she loves that she gets to be part of her client’s big life events.
She too has a sister. She wished she could have special time with her sister as well. They arrived together in San Francisco fifteen years ago and as soon as she had enough money she got a car and drove across the United States and landed in Ocean City. She has been at A Perfect Face since 2003. Her sister has since moved to North Carolina and work and life keeps them from visiting too frequently. I wanted to ask her more about her life, but it was time for me to relax and enjoy the pure bliss that comes with the pedicure.
I walked out with blue toes and fingernails, a small gift from the salon of a chocolate and lip balm, an overwhelming sense of calm, and a blessed feeling.
